"The fathers I meet tell me that the family law system is unfair to them; I agree.
"Some of them tell me that the pendulum has swung too far in favor of women in family court; I firmly disagree.
"There is no pendulum here. A pendulum that swings one way will eventually swing back. What tips the playing field against dads is not a pendulum, but a boulder. A boulder of ill-concieved laws, court rulings and, yes, attitudes.
"This boulder is not going to swing back on its own.
"It is up to dads themselves to better their lot. How? Push on the boulder. Push for just laws; push for righteous rulings; push for positive attitudes towards dads.
"My own function in F.R.E.E.[tm] is to get people to push in the same direction.
"Making that happen, is a bit like trying to herd cats, but by concerted efforts directed at our elected leaders, we are all making progress.
"I hope you will join us in our attempts to right this listing ship.
"Fathers' rights is an issue just beginning to emerge, and our agenda for the state and the country has not even begun to be met. We need to continue to register, vote and write to those in power. They need to hear that fathers are parents, too!"
F.R.E.E.[tm] has been making legislative news, and is bringing the message of fathers' rights to Congress and the state legislatures. Here is a listing of bills of interest to divorced fathers.
